Argo: directed by Ben Affleck.
I’ve nothing deep to say – it’s just a great, great film. Assured directing; confident, underplayed acting; a plot that keeps moving; incredible tension in the set-pieces. Craftsmanship. Everything a thriller should be. And it’s true! Go see…
The best review I can find so far is by Robbie Collin here.
The screenplay is based on a Wired article which you can read here.
I was just looking for something to go and see and it’s on at our local cinema in an hour!
Beautiful Art Deco cinema, piano music playing. Is it inappropriate to be commenting on a blog at the cinema I wonder?!
Only once the film has started!
A truck is blocking my car in so I have time to comment! Great movie, as you said, classy. I thought the first 10 minutes were particularly good and I was impressed with the attention to detail recreating 1980. I was trying to place one of the actresses and I’ve just remembered she played Alex’s girlfriend in Greys Anatomy and another of the hostages played Tom in Damages.
